Dennis Ratliff's Ride

Why I Ride ...

On May 7, 2010, our brave, beautiful, precious son DJ passed away.  His four-plus year battle to overcome neuroblastoma has been filled with laughter, joy, pain and sadness.  I will be riding each mile with his sprit a constant companion.

Not many things would make me travel 111 miles in anything less than a car, but the look on my son's face when I said I was going to participate in the PMC this year is a cherished memory that will inspire me to keep those pedals turning.  This year I will again tackle the hills of central massachusetts in order to raise money for an organization that has directly blessed our family's lives.  Our son DJ bravely battled neuroblastoma and received advanced treatment and care at the Jimmy Fund Clinic.  DJ faced several challenges, and we are grateful for the skilled and dedicated doctors, nurses, researchers, and support staff that helped us meet these challenges with him.  I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.  I would greatly appreciate your support in my efforts to raise money in memory of DJ and others who battle cancer.
