Danielle Niles's Ride
In honor and in memory
This will be my 3rd consecutive year riding in the Pan Mass Challenge and my goal is to raise $5000 that
will go directly to the Jimmy Fund and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
I'll be
riding the 1-day 110 mile Sturbridge to Bourne route alongside 5 other Team
NECN members.
Team NECN is part of the Pedal Partner Program, which is an inspiring way for PMC cyclists to connect with pediatric oncology patients of the Jimmy Fund Clinic. Through this program, registered PMC teams are matched up with and ride in honor of Jimmy Fund Clinic patients.
Our pedal partner this year is Elton Rines. He was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called "Wilm's tumor" when he was JUST 4 years old and has undergone numerous treatments and surgeries (1 to remove his kidney, another to remove a lung). He's now 6, in remission and full of energy and life. I had the opportunity to meet Elton, his older sis' Alexis and his parents Kim & Eric at the "Pedal Partner" meet and greet at Fenway Park in May. (see my profile pic - he is front & center!)
Whether it's a family member, friend or loved one - we are all impacted by cancer in one way or another. I have and always will be riding for those we've lost to the disease, and those who are "living proof" - especially my sister, Jackie. Let's work together to fight cancer and find a cure. If you'd like to donate to my ride this year - I would be so grateful.
If you want any more information, don't hesitate to email me at DNiles@necn.com.
