Deborah Devine's Ride
Why I Ride ...
I'm really excited to be riding in the PMC for a second year! Last year was such an awesome experience; I'd love a repeat! I am again riding in honor of my husband Greg, but this year he is riding too! He is doing so well, we are thankful every day. The doctors at Dana-Farber continue to take great care of Greg; he continues to see them every three months and I find a lot of comfort in that.
We are again riding as members of Team Xaverian (my son John's alma mater, this year we added UMass to the alma mater list!). Team Xaverian is again earmarking their donations to support the cancer research efforts of Dr. Christopher Turner, the Director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Outcomes Research at Dana Farber. Dr. Turner specializes in the survival of children stricken with brain tumors and he is a 1985 graduate of Xaverian High School. Greg and I had the privilege of attending the children's holiday party at Dana-Farber to present the donation check. What a wonderful experience! The kids, parents and doctors we met were amazing, and it was thrilling to watch these kids enjoy the party, dancing and singing - being so alive!
Thank you for your donations. Unfortunately, this last year has brought more diagnoses of cancer to a few more of our friends and acquaintances. So much progress, so much more to do! Please support me again by making a donation. Thank you!
