Craig Tedeschi's Ride
My day...
On a Friday morning at the start of August, a group of about 30 riders will get up very early, gather their gear and head west for the NY line. By the time most of you are heading for work, we will be off on our journey across MA. When we "put a bow on it" come Sunday afternoon in Provincetown MA, we will have ridden nearly 300 miles, shared a very special time together and helped to raise money for cancer research.
It was a cold and bright day in January when I committed to ride this year's Pan Mass Challenge. It's a lot of work...raising $4,200.00, training and conditioning to ride nearly 300 miles in 3 days, committing tons of family time to do both.
Somebody always asks why we ride. Misery loves company? Of course. Donuts? Most definitely! Mostly, so we can make a difference in the life of someone with cancer.
For me, it is a special time to spend with my sister, who lost her battle in 2004. She loved the beach and living at the coast. I feel connected with her when I get near the shoreline. These three days are my days with her...and that is worth every penny I have committed to raise.
