Spring, 2012

Dear family and friends -

The Pan Mass Challenge is one of my longtime passions.  Although this is to be my last year riding the PMC, I remain committed to volunteering for this incredible event and cause.  Also look for Erin Dunne's profile - we are riding together this year for her first PMC! 

·        My PC college friend Susan has survived many trials over the past couple of years that recently included treatment for breast cancer.  Her tenacity and humor through it all is truly amazing and riding the PMC is just one small way to support her.

·        Dianne, a massage and teaching colleague, continues to demonstrate her courage and wisdom in the face of esophageal cancer.  She has continued to educate, amaze, and entertain us, if you can believe it, with her poignant and humorous blog about the experience of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and life.

Team Forza-G, which boasts over 50 members, will allow me to tag along again this year.  We are teamed with a pedal partner, a child who is a cancer survivor with the help of treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Please give what you can with the knowledge that 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  The goal for 2012 is $36 million in one weekend!  In order to participate in this event, the fundraising minimum for the Wellesley to Provincetown route is $4,300. I am asking for your help in achieving this goal.

�-�       Raffle:  A team member, Doug Chin, has organized his annual PMC raffle for two iPad2s.  If you are interested in purchasing raffle tickets, please send a separate check to me payable to DC Riders (all proceeds go to PMC) or cash in person. TICKETS are either $50 each (only 100 to be sold) or $5 each for the second iPad.

DEDICATIONS:

I am pleased to ride in honor/memory of someone special to you. An individual ribbon with their name will be pinned to my cycling jersey to honor them and give me inspiration along the way. If you would like to dedicate your donation, please let me know his/her name and know that they will be with me for the entire ride.
