Colleen Duffy's Ride
Why I Ride ...
Thank you for donating to my 4th PMC ride which is, of course, dedicated to my beautiful daughter Meghan who passed away in September 2007 at the age of 11 and to her wonderful friend Maddie who joined Meg in heaven nearly three years ago. I have decided to up the anti and to celebrate my 50th birthday by riding the two-day ride from Wellesley to Provincetown. Some birthday present, huh? I decided to challenge myself as a testament to the many challenges that Meghan faced so bravely during her difficult treatment.
As you know, Meghan waged a very courageous battle against metastatic osteosarcoma and was an inspiration to other patients and her wonderful caregivers at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Children's Hospital. Meghan was committed to the PMC and the Pedal Partner program, even serving as a spokesperson on NECN.
Also this year, I ride to support my sister-in-law Sharon Cronin who is waging her own battle against Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. She has the ultimate motivation in her recovery from a bone marrow treatment - my neice and nephew who are 4 and 2 years old. Sharon - I will be thinking of you and Meghan with every pedal stroke.
Thank you to all of our generous supporters, family and friends many of whom will be joining us on our PMC team. We know we will have many "Angels on Board" during our ride. We love you Meghan and we will make you proud.
