Why I Ride ...

 

The Pan Mass Challenge is a bike ride across Massachusetts that raises money for foundations such as the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which help to better the lives of those diagnosed with cancer. This August, I am proud to tell you that I will be riding for my third year in an eighty-four mile ride from Wellesley, MA to Bourne, MA. Last year’s ride was an amazing and unforgettable experience. I realized that I was so fortunate to have my health and to be able to ride my bike to help support those who could only dream of doing the same.

 
Once again, I will be riding with Team Perry. Team Perry was organized in honor of Perry S. Levey, whose life was taken from him at age 32. Perry was diagnosed with a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer. I did not know Perry personally, but from those on the team who did, I know that he was and is still loved very much. It makes me so upset that Perry along with millions of others who are diagnosed with cancer do not survive such a condition.  I ride the PMC in hopes that a cure for cancer will be found, and that nobody will ever have to suffer from this condition in the future.

My fundraising goal is $3,000. I know that with the economic recession, money is pretty tight. However, cancer does not stop taking millions of lives each year because the economy is not doing well. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.  Last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. Please help me and the PMC riders reach our goals to support those with cancer.
