Welcome to my profile page and thanks for your interest in donating to this amazing cause.  I am a 2^nd year pediatric oncology fellow and this is my first year riding and raising money for the PanMass Challenge (PMC).  The PMC is a two-day, 192 mile bike ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown that raised $35 million dollars for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute last year.
           I first took up riding while living in San Francisco.  The hills of the city and Marin County were excellent training grounds for my first long ride.  In 2006 I did my first century ride (100 miles), the full-moon ride through Death Valley.  It was an amazing, and at times strange, way to experience my first big ride.  The PMC will be the longest ride I've ever done and I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can begin training!
            The opportunity to care for patients and participate in research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been an amazing experience.  This is my attempt to raise awareness and money for a place that is dedicated to people of all ages who are battling cancer with hope and dignity.  I've joined the team Pedal for Pediatrics which earmarks all donations made through myself or my teamates for pediatric causes at the Dana-Farber and Children's Hospital.  
            By joining this event, I have committed to raising $4200 (and riding 192 miles in 2 days!) but I am hoping to raise $6000 by the time I'm done.  I realize these are tough economic times but I hope you'll consider donating to this cause with at least some of the money you've set aside for donations this year.  Obviously, large donations are wonderful, but as President Obama proved during his campaign, even small donations can make a difference when you roll them all together. 
           Be assured that 100% of your donation will go to the Dana-Farber for the care of patients and cancer research (corporate sponsors cover all of the logistical expenses).  Instructions for making donations can be found on the "donations" tab above.  The "email" tab allows you to forward a link to anyone you think may be interested in learning more about this event.
