Barry Benjamin's Ride

Why I Ride ...

On August 6th and 7th my friends and I, as members of Team Perry, will once again join more than 5,000 cyclists on the 185-mile route from Wellesley to Provincetown. This will be my ninth year as a participant in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge in support of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

I am particularly motivated to ride this year for two reasons. First, to mark my recovery from recent back surgery and second, to honor the memory of my brother, George, who died in December. Having someone as close as a brother succumb to cancer sharply focuses my desire to ride for the cure!

Last year the Pan-Mass Challenge raised thirty-three million dollars. My personal goal is to exceed the $12,000 that I raised. You, my generous supporters, have contributed just over $73,850 during the past eight years.

It is imperative that we continue to support the essential work of institutions such as Dana Faber. I would appreciate your contribution at whatever level you feel comfortable. You can contribute on line at www.pmc.org/egifts/. My e-gift ID is BB0086.

Many thanks in advance, for your kindness and for your continuing support.
