Adam York's Ride

Why I Ride ...

Two years ago my family was hit by the devastating news that my sister, Faythe, seemingly very healthy, was in fact gravely ill and needing immediate surgery to remove cancer that had been spreading by the minute in her body. The surgery and subsequent chemotherapy were an ordeal for Faythe. There were many long and painful days and nights, not just physically, but mentally as well. However, anyone that has known Faythe knew she would win this battle. This disease could never match her will, her desire and her spirit.

Thankfully we were all correct. Faythe, then and now, continues to be an inspiration to all of her friends and family. With her laugh, her smile, and her infectious attitude it's no wonder she is as I like to say, "This world's most favorite person and everyone's best friend."

As many of you are aware the Pan-Mass Challenge has raised more than $145 million over the last 24 years. It is the most efficient fundraising event in this country with $0.99 of every dollar going directly toward cancer research and treatment. On Saturday and Sunday August 5th and 6th, I will ride the full 192 miles of the Pan-Mass challenge from Sturbridge to Provincetown, Massachusetts. Thoughts of cancer survivors like Faythe and our good friends Sue Devries assuredly (and hopefully) will be the fuel I need to push me the entire route.

Please help me honor Faythe and Sue in life as I ride the challenge by donating in one of two ways. You can mail a check to me, made payable to the PMC, or you can do it fast and efficiently here online with a credit card.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your contribution.
