Why I Ride ...
Welcome to The Pan Mass Challenge (PMC). This year (2012) will mark the 33rd anniversary of this 190 mile fundraising ride that will pass through 46 towns throughout Massachusetts. This will also be my 20th year of riding in this wonderful event. Begining August 4th approximately 5,000 riders and 3,000 volunteers will take part in a 2 day journey that will begin in Sturbridge, MA and end in Provincetown, MA. The purpose of this event is to raise money and awareness for cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston, MA. To take on the task of riding in this bike-a-thon I must raise a minimum of $4,300 for this year. To date over the last 18 years I have raised just over $114,500. Take note though my story and riding will not end just yet. Due to good health and my commitment to this cause I hope to continue on this journey with your help for many more years to come until one day we can say there is a cure for Cancer.

For those who did not know I lost my father, grandfather, and a good friend to this horrible disease. This is one of the reasons I ride. The other reason is that by taking part in this fundraiser all the money raised to fund cancer research will someday result in a cure for cancer being found.
