I'm thrilled to ride my third Pan Mass Challenge this August!  Team Kermit is a WONDERFUL group and family and I am so very lucky and honored to be part of it.  Some of you know that this cause has hit closer to home after battling breast cancer since May.  Yes, that means I rode last year's PMC between two chemo sessions; it wasn't easy, but it was worth it. (see photos from 2011) My fight has been successful, for I am now cancer free, but others are still fighting and receiving treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), and they need your help!  The new Yawkey Building, where I had my treatments, was partially funded by the PMC, and I often visited the PMC bridge and Plaza for inspiration.  The facility is truly amazing, the doctors and nurses superb on all accounts, and the treatment is the best in the country.  And this is because of YOU!!

I have lost friends and family members to various types of cancer…it affects us all in different ways.  My more personal experience with the ride last year is indescribable from the support as people saw my bald head at water stops to sitting with 300 other survivors and having a champagne toast in Bourne.  It is so much more than a bike ride...

In addition to riding in Jared's memory and for me, I also ride for:

My grandmother, “Wibby", Lindsay, Evans, Ann, Sarah, Margaret, Thomas, Bert, Lorraine, and this year, I'm also riding for the wonderful June; she had the most significant impact on my life each summer and in her final months this fall, she still thought of me and my fight.

My goal is $6600, 100% of which goes to the Jimmy Fund and DFCI.  Team Kermit's fundraises for the Jared Branfman Sunflowers for Life Fund for Pediatric Brain and Spinal Research.  With your *tax deductible*donation, you will be contributing to an amazing cause and helping children with this rare cancer (and their families).
