Amy Levitan's Ride

Why I Ride ...

Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues

While the weather could  not make its mind as to whether it is summer yet, I have made up my mind " to ride yet another Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) and raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  Not only will this be my 10thyear riding (though not consecutive), but It will be the first time that part of the ride will be a  “mother and son” effort!   Yes, Josh has decided to ride as well!  I plan to ride 85 miles on Saturday from Wellesley to Bourne and then Josh and I will ride the 50 mile Wellesley - Sharon -Wellesley route on Sunday!    (Those of you in Sharon are welcome to volunteer or come cheer us!)

As you may remember from last years post ride thank you, I  did not complete last years ride (due to accompanying a family member to the hospital to get checked out after he had a bad fall"fortunately he was fine), so it has been a number of years since I have written 85 miles,  no less 135 miles!, and Josh has ever ridden more then 20 miles.  So we have our work cut out for us-  not only do we need to physically train but we need to collectively  raise $3500.

While we can do the training, we need your help to reach our required fundraising goal of $3,500.  As registered riders, whatever we can not raise we are still required to pay!

This year as I ride, I will be thinking of all of you that have and continue to pledge me. Your unwaving support allows me to have confidence that if I do the ride, I will be able to reach the required fundraising goal by early August.  I recognize that many of you have know and supported friends or family that have been affected by cancer, or have face it yourself .  I am riding for you  and all those you have in mind when you pledge me.

I know that financially times are still tough hard and that it may be difficult to give  (or you may have already donated to another  PMC rider).  What ever you can do to support Josh and I would be greatly appreciated.  With your contribution, we hope to see the day when we are able to ride for just pleasure!

I look forward to hearing from you before August 6thand 7th!  See other side on how to donate!

Sincerely

Amy (Zimmerman) Levitan

If your employer provides matching funds, please apply for them to match your contribution by :
Simply  going to your  human resources department and asking  for a matching gift form. You will  need to fill out some information and enclose it with your  contribution. Some companies use an on-line match instead of a paper form. In this case, you will go on-line to your  company's website and submit a request for the match. You should then print out the receipt and send it to you along with the donation.

Thanks once again!

Amy ( and Josh)
