Why I Ride ...
This is a big milestone year for Team Xaverian. This is the 5th year as a team and we've come a long way from the 4-man team that started this yearly tradition. Last year the team was 20 strong and we raised $56,000 for Dr. Manley's Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Clinic at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. That brings our 4 year total to over $150,000. We haven't set our goal for this year, but we would definitely love to top $50,000 for a second straight year. We could never do it without your support and we can't say THANK YOU enough.
This year I'll be riding the 2-day, 182 mile route from Sturbridge to Bourne and Bourne to Wellesley for the third straight year. Although the New England weather hasn't been the greatest, I'm already started with my training. There is no better feeling than breaking out the bike every Spring knowing I'm preparing for the Pan Mass Challenge. Like I've said every year, riding is the easy part. Knowing what my friends and family have gone through with cancer treatments doesn't even compare in the least to anything I've gone through on the bike. Getting out on a bike to raise money and awareness for cancer research is least I can do for them.
My goal this year is to raise $3,400, but I always set the bar high and would like to raise $5,000. There is no way in the world I could do this without your support. It is amazing to me the support and words of encouragement I've received over the past 4 years. It is great to know there are so many friends and family who share my passion for finding a cure for cancer. I thank you for all your support these past 4 years and I'm going to need it again this year too! As in years past, no donation is too small.
