Pan-Mass Challenge

Billy Starr traded wheels for skates Friday night in order to receive a donation to the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge from the Boston Bruins Foundation Bike Team.

 

The Bruins first launched a PMC team in 2005. The 2008 Boston Bruins team raised $210,000 for cancer research through the PMC. Read more about their team here.

Pan-Mass Challenge

This year's Pan-Massachusetts Challenge riders came from 36 states and eight countries. Thousands of you also came from right here in New England.

In Massachusetts, PMC riders represented 276 towns – that's more than 78 percent of the communities in the state.  

Each rider made his or her own significant contribution to help the PMC raise a record-breaking amount. We crunched the numbers to find out where the most money came from by rider hometown.

If you've visited the PMC website recently, you saw the proud unveiling of the $35 million donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

 

Holding up that expensive check were three young girls from Needham: Emma Zeiger, Sami Swartz, and Allison Lebwith. Emma is a remarkable young girl who has become an important part of the PMC Kids Rides family.
