One man will ride one wheel for 12 days and go the extra mile to ride and raise funds for the 2013 Pan-Mass Challenge, taking on 283 miles on the saddle of a unicycle.

Peter Corbett, 55, of Shutesbury, Mass., set out on June 24 from the New York border and has been traveling 25 to 30 miles a day with the goal of finishing in Provincetown on August 4 alongside the 5,500 cyclists who will participate in the PMC this year.

In 2008, Angus McQuilken, of Wellesley Hills, Mass., was diagnosed with colon-cancer.

Thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who cared for him first at Newton/Wellesley Hospital and then at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, this May will mark his fifth year cancer free and this August will mark his fifth consecutive ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge.
