Pan-Mass Challenge

As a Boston TV news reporter for the last 13 years, David Wade has covered hundreds of compelling stories. But there was something about this year's Boston Marathon that inspired him more than usual. "I was interviewing all of these amazing runners at the Boston Marathon," the WBZ, Channel 4 morning news anchor said. "They'd fought cancer, or lost a loved one to a disease, and here they were running 26.2 miles and raising money. I thought, what am I doing?"

Pan-Mass Challenge

The June 19 Red Sox vs. LA Dodgers game was a game to remember for both the audience (what a finish in the 9th inning) and for the 31 cancer survivors and Pan-Massachusetts Challenge cyclists who were honored during a pre-game ceremony.

Prior to the start of the game, Pan-Mass Challenge cyclists, volunteers, and their families came together at Fenway Park to honor those who battled cancer and are dedicated to riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge for a common cause: a cure for cancer.
