Barry Davis has been part of the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge for a long time. He'll be riding for the 27th time this summer. Every year he has his routine for fundraising. But last week, something unusual happened. Here's Barry's story that reminds us all why we pedal, train, and fundraise to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Sunday, May 31 is a big day for PMC Kids Rides across Massachusetts. This weekend, children from seven towns in Massachusetts are raising money for the PMC and cancer research and treatment Dana-Farber. This is just the beginning of the 2009 Kids Ride season, which features 40 events throughout New England and beyond. PMC Kids Rides are a way to introduce your little ones to philanthropy, while they enjoy a day outside on their bikes.  Here are the May 31 events:

In honor of the 30th anniversary Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, the PMC blog will take you on a ride through history. Today we continue 30 years in 30 weeks with a look back at the PMC in 1999. We'll coast through the event's history, featuring a new year each week, as we lead up to the 30th annual ride on Aug. 1 and 2.
