As we gear up for the 30th annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, the PMC blog will share the inspirational stories of some of our wonderful riders. Meet Dan Young, a first time PMCer: In September 2007, Young, a healthy 38-year-old father of two young girls, woke up with a heavy feeling in his chest and a weird sensation in his right arm. The avid bike rider and hockey player couldn't be having a heart attack. Could he? Young brushed it off, thinking he would feel pain in the left arm if he was having a heart attack.

In honor of the 30th anniversary Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, the PMC blog will take you on a ride through history. Today we continue 30 years in 30 weeks with a look back at the PMC in 1992. We'll coast through the event's history, featuring a new year each week, as we lead up to the 30th annual ride on Aug. 1 and 2.
