The PMC generates media attention to help riders fundraise and attract new riders. People who read, hear or watch stories about PMC riders, are much more likely to get involved and/or contribute to the cause.

The Zakim Bridge will be illuminated red on tonight (January 15, 2015), in honor of the first day of open registration for #PMC2015, the bike-a-thon event that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world.

To our PMC Community:

I am pleased to announce that, for our 36th year, we have set our sights on raising a total of $500,000,000 since 1980! That's right - our goal for this year is $45 million! That is not too tall an order for this group nor is it a "lay-up" either.

Each day, hundreds of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients, family members, and staff walk across the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Bridge to Progress.  Though the distance they travel is significantly shorter than the 192 miles biked by riders each year during PMC weekend, their goal is the same: to conquer cancer.
