The Peer-to-Peer Thirty is an annual benchmark study of the top peer-to-peer fundraising programs in the United States. Findings are based on survey responses from the professionals who manage major athletic event and peer-to-peer fundraising programs, publicly available data and estimates when nonprofits decline to participate. Information is collected in December of each year and released at our annual conference.
(PMC mentioned on page 8, 9 and appendix chart of report)
The PMC generates media attention to help riders fundraise and attract new riders. People who read, hear or watch stories about PMC riders, are much more likely to get involved and/or contribute to the cause.
The Zakim Bridge will be illuminated red on tonight (January 15, 2015), in honor of the first day of open registration for #PMC2015, the bike-a-thon event that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world.
I am pleased to announce that, for our 36th year, we have set our sights on raising a total of $500,000,000 since 1980! That's right - our goal for this year is $45 million! That is not too tall an order for this group nor is it a "lay-up" either.
