PMC Welcomes Tito’s Handmade Vodka as 2017 Official Spirit Partner

NEEDHAM, Mass. (April 19, 2017) - The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is pleased to announce that Tito’s Handmade Vodka, America’s original craft vodka, is joining the PMC family as the organization’s official spirit partner in 2017. PMC riders, volunteers and friends will have the opportunity to toast their accomplishments with Tito’s Handmade Vodka signature cocktails throughout the year.

“Our team is thrilled to partner with the PMC to support its incredible efforts in fundraising for cancer research and treatment,” says Amy Lukken, Joyologist at Tito’s Handmade Vodka. “We’re passionate about partnering with organizations that truly make the world a better place, and the PMC is without a doubt doing that. Our brand was built on a heritage of giving back, and we’re excited to continue that legacy with the PMC.”

Tito’s Handmade Vodka will have a strong presence, serving signature cocktails at PMC events year-round, including the PMC Heavy Hitter reception on May 12, honoring top fundraisers from 2016, PMC Day at Fenway events being hosted at Lansdowne Pub before and after the game on June 10, PMC Young Professionals Night at Loretta’s Last Call on June 21 and the PMC Check Celebration this fall. Tito’s Handmade Vodka will also be serving signature cocktails at various locations during PMC Ride Weekend on August 5 and 6.

“We are pleased to partner with our friends at Tito’s Handmade Vodka in our 38th year, and welcome them to the PMC family” says Billy Starr, PMC founder and executive director. “We’re fortunate that we get to partner with like-minded organizations that want to make an impact in the cancer community. This partnership will surely excite all of our riders and volunteers as they look ahead to ride weekend. We will all be raising a glass to the PMC, to Tito’s Handmade Vodka and to everyone who works hard to help make our annual gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute possible.”

The PMC is the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event, raising and contributing more money to charity than any other. Set for August 5 and 6, 2017, the PMC will draw more than 6,200 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers to the two-day bike-a-thon with the goal of raising $48 million to support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber. If accomplished, this fundraising goal will bring the organization’s 38-year contribution to more than $595 million. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, raising more than 52 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.

About The Pan-Mass Challenge

The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is an annual bike-a-thon that has raised more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event’s executive director, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $547 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause. The PMC generates more than 52 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue and is Dana-Farber’s single largest contributor. The PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors. All are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. The PMC’s hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.
