2016 PMC Newton Riders Reception
On Wednesday, June 29th, Mayor Setti Warren will host the 5th annual Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Newton Riders Reception. Mayor Warren will join Billy Starr, the Founder and Executive Director of the PMC, to raise awareness for the Pan-Mass Challenge and to personally thank over 170 riders who are Newton residents.
The reception will be 7-9pm at Terry O'Reilly's Irish Pub at 45 Union St, Newton, MA.
This year celebrates the 37th riding of the Pan-Mass Challenge. Founded in 1980, the PMC is an annual bike-a-thon that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Since its founding, the PMC has raised a half-billion dollars for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Dana-Farber) through the Jimmy Fund. On Aug. 6 and 7, more than 6,000 cyclists will ride up to 192 miles in the PMC with the goal of raising $46 million. The PMC donates 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause.
Come meet other riders and celebrate our City’s commitment to fighting cancer!
