PRIMO NAMED OFFICIAL WATER OF THE 2018 PAN-MASS CHALLENGE
Sponsorship supports cancer research while advancing company mission
Needham, MA (May 23, 2018)—The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is pleased to announce that Primo Water has been named the official water of the 39th PMC. As sponsor, Primo will supply all of the drinking water for this two-day cycling event -- from water stops along the 192-mile course through Massachusetts to the water used to make the Gatorade for post-ride celebrations.

The PMC is the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event, raising and contributing more money to charity than any other. On August 4 and 5, 2018, more than 6,200 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers will participate in the two-day bike-a-thon with the goal of raising $52 million to support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber. One hundred percent of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to the cause. If accomplished, this fundraising goal will bring the organization’s 39-year contribution to more than $650 million. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, raising more than 53 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.

About the Pan-Mass Challenge
The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is a bike-a-thon that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The 39th PMC will take place on August 4 and 5, 2018. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event’s executive director, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $598 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.
