Bay State Physical Therapy Named Official Physical Therapy Provider of the Pan-Mass Challenge
Needham, MA (June 21, 2018) - The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is pleased to announce that Bay State Physical Therapy, with 48 locations throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, has signed on to be the official physical therapy provider for the PMC from 2018 through 2020. As sponsor, Bay State Physical Therapy will provide exceptional physical therapy services for the participants in the two-day cycling event at multiple stops along the route. From muscle soreness to nagging injuries, Bay State Physical Therapy will keep riders cycling at their best!
“We are proud to partner with the Pan-Mass Challenge to help raise money for cancer research and provide our physical therapy services to the cyclists over the next few years,” stated Steven Windwer, President & CEO of Bay State Physical Therapy. “Bay State Physical Therapy has 48 locations in Eastern MA and NH; this sponsorship opportunity provides us with the chance to support the members of the communities that we serve daily. It is our pleasure to team up with an organization that supports a cause that our company cares deeply about," he added.
Since opening in 1995, Bay State Physical Therapy has continued to proudly serve the Greater Boston area, Eastern MA, Cape Cod and New Hampshire communities to improve their quality of life and function by providing state of the art, individualized care for its patients. Their facilities offer comprehensive care for sports injuries, as well as orthopedic and neurological conditions.
“We admire Bay State Physical Therapy’s commitment to supporting the well-being of its patients and community members and are thrilled to have them on board as the Official Physical Therapy Provider of the PMC for the next few years,” said Billy Starr, Pan-Mass Challenge founder and executive director. “The 192-mile PMC journey is a long one and we’re grateful to have Bay State Physical Therapy staff on-hand to ensure our riders have access to physical therapy services should a need arise during Ride Weekend.”
The PMC is the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event, raising and contributing more money to charity than any other. On August 4 and 5, 2018, more than 6,200 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers will participate in the two-day bike-a-thon with the goal of raising $52 million to support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber. One hundred percent of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to the cause. If accomplished, this fundraising goal will bring the organization’s 39-year contribution to more than $650 million. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, raising more than 53 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.
About The Pan-Mass Challenge
The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is an annual bike-a-thon that has raised more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event’s executive director, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $598 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause. The PMC generates more than 53 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue and is Dana-Farber’s single largest contributor. The PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors. All are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. The PMC’s hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.
