Types of Donations

Cash - Do Not Mail Cash! If a sponsor(s) gives you cash, please write a personal check with a note letting us know who the donor is, send a money order or make an egift to your account with your credit card information. Insert the donor's information in the gift info section.

Checks - Ask sponsors to make their checks payable to: PMC, Jimmy Fund, DFCI or any combination of the three. Checks made out to you must be endorsed by you and signed over to the PMC ("Pay to the PMC"). Checks dated prior to Nov. 18, 2010 will be credited for 2010. Please do not hold onto checks for the following year's fundraising. You may request that checks dated and sent after the November 18th check presentation be credited to 2011.

*Please note any check received after 6 months of the written date will not be accepted by the bank.

Foreign Checks - Our bank accepts all Canadian checks. Other foreign checks must be submitted for collection as our bank does not have clearing arrangements with a foreign bank. The minimum for collection is $200 after the exchange rate and $40 processing fee per check have been accounted for. The collection process will take 2-8 weeks.

e-Gifts - Send your sponsors an e-mail with a link to the PMC egift page http://www.pmc.org/egifts/ with your egift id. Make it even easier and send the direct link to your personal e-Gifts page.
http://www.pmc.org/egifts/XX0123
Replace XX0123 with your egift id.

Credit Cards - Have your sponsor fill out and sign a credit card pledge form. This form must include name, address, donation amount, credit card number, type, expiration date and the cardholder's signature. Or make the credit card donation an eGift. Just fill in the form on your eGift page. Enter your sponsor’s email address and they will get an immediate confirmation of their gift.

Matching Grants - Have your sponsor obtain their company's matching grant form and send it to you with their check. We will process the form and credit your fundraising account for the check and matching amount. If your sponsor has made a credit card donation you may just mail the form to be processed. Ask all of your sponsors if they have the capability of matching their gift through their employers. For a list of companies that match the PMC click here

Stock Donations – Do your sponsors own stocks or bonds that have appreciated in value, but if sold would incur capital gains taxes? Making gifts of long-term appreciated securities rather than cash is easy and offers your sponsors many benefits. Long-term appreciated securities are stocks or bonds that have been closely held for at least one year and have risen in value. Contributing these securities can be the most cost-effective way for your sponsors to make a charitable gift in support of your Pan-Mass Challenge ride.

Donate stock right on our website by using Asset Stream. Send your sponsors an e-mail link to your e-Gifts page where they can choose to donate by stock.
