Jimmy Fund Clinic Patients Honored at Fenway Park as Pan-Mass Challenge Pedal Partners®
New Sponsor MFS Investment Management Presents PMC Pedal Partner® Program and Party Saturday, May 5
WHAT: Pediatric oncology patients from the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute serving as PMC Pedal Partners® will gather at Fenway Park on Saturday, May 5th to meet the teams of cyclists that will be riding in their honor during the 39th Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). In its 18th year, the PMC Pedal Partner Program is now presented by MFS Investment Management, a long-time PMC supporter and sponsor.
More than 50 Pedal Partners, their families and PMC riders will enjoy a fun and interactive morning of activities, including balloon animals made by Silly Willy The Clown, face painting, arts and crafts, tours of Fenway Park and a continental breakfast, with a special appearance from Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster.
The PMC is a 192-mile bike-a-thon that has raised a total of $598 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber since 1980, making it the most successful single athletic fundraising event in the U.S. The PMC gives 100% of every rider-raised dollar to Dana-Farber and accounts for more than 53 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. On Aug. 4 and 5, more than 6,000 cyclists will ride up to 192 miles in the PMC with the goal of raising $52 million for Dana-Farber.
